History of Gritter Francona
Our story began with service to our country, and continues to our customers.
Cory Gritter, a United States Marine Corps (USMC) veteran, was severely wounded while conducting combat operations in Afghanistan as a scout sniper. During his multi-year recovery at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Gritter joined the Wounded Warrior Mentoring Program (WWMP), where he was mentored by Carl Salzano, who was then an executive with Booz Allen Hamilton, and a US Navy veteran himself. After Cory completed internships with Network and Security Operation Centers for both commercial and government clients, he founded Gritter Francona in January 2013 on the premise that significant opportunity exists to harness the unique and diverse skills possessed by Veterans. Today, Gritter Francona employs over 100 staff across a portfolio of contracts that is singularly focused on making our clients successful through creative and innovative services that meet current goals while anticipating future needs.

Greenside, an SBA approved Mentor Protégé Joint Venture (JV), was formed in December of 2023 comprising Gritter Francona as the SDVOSB protégé and Cognosante, a large company mentor and part of Accenture Federal Services. Collectively Gritter Francona and Cognosante possess over 30 years of combined experience delivering mission-driven solutions across the healthcare, civilian, and defense agencies.

Gritter Francona, Inc. established the Gritter Francona, Inc. Current-Use Scholarship for Veterans in July 2022. This fund provides merit-based scholarship support for undergraduate students who are military veterans enrolled at the University of Maryland.
